Research: Scientist I/II, Cell Biology & Screening

Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit elusive frontier targets within notorious growth and survival pathways, with particular emphasis on RAS and mTOR signaling pathways. As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding scientists who are helping lead our efforts in the discovery and development of new medicines for unmet needs in cancer.


As a key player in the Discovery Technologies team, you will:

  • Drive development and implementation of robust cellular assays to profile compound activity against targeted biology in relevant 2D or 3D in vitro disease models.

  • Oversee generation and interpretation of cellular assay data from external CROs to drive understanding of molecular structure/function relationships for multiple oncology programs.

  • Provide department representation to therapeutic program teams and collaborate with chemists, biologists and pharmacologists to generate novel insights that fuel drug development and participate in strategic program decisions.

  • Participate in the identification and characterization of new Frontier Oncology targets for lead discovery potential.

  • Execute experiments and scientific tasks with high level of independence, scientific rigor, and curiosity.

  • Implement best practices (automation, informatics, organization) and identify/champion new technologies to build a robust cell-based screening capability.

  • Represent Revolution Medicines with external organizations.

Required Skills
  • Ph.D. degree in biology, pharmacology or related field (Scientist I) with 2+ years of post-doctoral research experience (Scientist II); biopharmaceutical industry experience in small molecule discovery is preferred.

  • Proven track record of rigorous, quantitative and detail-oriented science with direct experience developing cellular assays and expertise with mammalian tissue culture across a variety of tissue/cell types and growth conditions (experience with 3D tissue culture models is a plus).

  • Scientific expertise in a number of disciplines, including molecular and cell biology, high-throughput automated workflows and relevant screening technologies (e.g. alphaLISA/ELISA, CRISPR, MSD, high-content microscopy, and flow cytometry).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to present to a wide variety of audiences.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of self-awareness with a flexible growth mindset.

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize options, anticipate challenges, and execute on goals as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
