Research: Scientist I / II, Cancer Pharmacology

Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit elusive frontier targets within notorious growth and survival pathways, with particular emphasis on RAS and mTOR signaling pathways. As a new member of the RevMed team, you will join other outstanding scientists who are helping lead our efforts in the discovery and development of new medicines for unmet needs in cancer.


As a cancer pharmacologist you will:

  • Be a critical contributor to the cancer biology organization and multi-disciplinary research project teams.

  • Design, conduct, and manage in vivo and ex vivo experiments in-house or at contract research organizations (CROs), and other collaborating institutions, related to the discovery of novel anti-cancer agents, including but not restricted to:

  • Novel oncology pathway inhibitors

  • Immuno-oncology agents

  • Combination strategies

  • Preclinical pharmacodynamic studies

  • Manage and analyze experimental data and present results at internal meetings and scientific conferences.

  • Develop high-quality protocols and outputs, and maintain detailed documentation of procedures and data to comply with internal standard operating procedures and other quality criteria, where necessary.

  • The post-holder may be required to manage or supervise other scientific or technical personnel.

Required Skills
  • A Ph.D. in pharmacology or cancer biology with 1-3 years of postdoctoral experience; 1-3 years’ relevant industry experience in small molecule pharmacology preferred.

  • Strong track record of research productivity as evidenced by high-quality, impactful publications.

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in establishing, executing and interpreting in vivo experiments with oncology disease models, including technical excellence in rodent handling and dosing skills.

  • Experience with elucidating basic oncology pharmacology concepts such as PKPD and efficacy relationships.

  • Rigorous, quantitative and detail-oriented experimentalist with proven excellence in experimental design, data analysis methods, data management, and presentation.

  • Thrives in a collaborative team setting and is driven by a desire to be innovative in a high energy, small company environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize options, anticipate challenges, and execute on goals as a member of an interdisciplinary team is extremely important.
