Research: Associate Director/Director, Research Diagnostics

Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit elusive frontier targets within notorious growth and survival pathways, with particular emphasis on RAS and mTOR signaling pathways. Our experienced team of biologists and pharmacologists deploy this platform to validate frontier cancer targets, define sites on a target that could be drugged, and guide us toward precision medicines for cancer patients.  As a new member of the RevMed team, you will join other outstanding scientists who are helping lead our efforts in the discovery and development of new medicines for unmet needs in cancer.


As member of the Biology Department, reporting to the Head of Pharmacology, and the leader of a cross-functional research diagnostics team you will:

  • Be a critical contributor to the Research and Development organization and multi-disciplinary project teams.

  • Integrate a deep knowledge of oncogenic signaling pathways into hypothesis generation for, and validation of, patient stratification biomarkers for the RevMed pipeline of RAS pathway-targeted agents.

  • Be accountable for the conduct of cutting-edge research initiatives to guide patient selection for monotherapy and combination therapy strategies, integrating knowledge from oncology, human genetics and bioinformatics.

  • Collaborate closely with members of Clinical Development organization to enable successful clinical implementation of biomarker strategies

  • Establish and manage relationships with external academic and CRO collaborators for basic and translational research.

  • Manage and analyze experimental data outputs and present results at internal meetings and scientific conferences.

Required Skills
  • Ph.D. degree in pharmacology, oncology, cell biology or a related discipline, with 2-3 years of post-doctoral and at least 3-6 years of relevant industry experience in cancer drug discovery and development.

  • Deep expertise in oncogenic signaling pathways and cancer translational research.

  • Experience in implementing biomarkers in the clinical setting for novel cancer therapeutics highly desirable.

  • Strong track record of scientific productivity as evidenced by high-quality, impactful publications.

  • Strategic thinker with proven leadership skills, prior project team leadership roles would be an advantage.

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize options, anticipate challenges, and execute on goals as a member of an interdisciplinary team is extremely important.

  • Experience working with external collaborators in cancer biology field in basic and/or clinical science.

  • Rigorous, quantitative and detail-oriented experimentalist.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
