Development: Director, Clinical Diagnostics

Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit elusive frontier targets within notorious growth and survival pathways, with particular emphasis on RAS and mTOR signaling pathways. As a new member of the RevMed team, you will join other outstanding scientists who are helping lead our efforts in the discovery and development of new medicines for unmet needs in cancer.


This is a leadership position within the Research and Development Organization. The position-holder will be initially accountable to the Head of Clinical Development for leading the functions of Predictive Diagnostics. The position-holder will be expected to play a key role in driving the clinical diagnostics and supporting preclinical diagnostic programs forward, managing scientists and other necessary personnel, and participate in decision-making around our diagnostics strategies. The post-holder must be prepared to represent the relevant aspects of the programs and the Company externally with corporate partners, collaborators, vendors, and the broader scientific community.

As a key player in the Research and Development organization, the position-holder will:

  • Ensure the successful discovery and development of appropriate predictive diagnostic tests for patient selection/deselection for application to clinical trials, including being accountable for the functional budget

  • Participate on the various multi-disciplinary teams

  • Manage key personnel within the diagnostics group

  • Be accountable for the evaluation and reporting of experimental data at internal meetings and scientific conferences, including interpretation and recommendations for future direction

  • Initially represent the diagnostics efforts at project team and governance committees

Required Skills
  • MD PhD, or Ph.D., or equivalent in cancer biology, cell biology or a related discipline.

  • At least 7+ years of relevant post-doctoral industry experience and demonstrable track record of excellence and execution.

  • Extensive experience of diagnostics and leading diagnostic programs in a clinical trial environment.

  • Strong track record of productivity and success in a relevant field, with required experience in oncology predictive diagnostics.

  • Demonstrable leadership skills and excellence in management, with a track record of building and developing high quality teams.

  • Track record of high-quality scientific publications.

  • Good understanding of the regulatory landscape for predictive diagnostics in the US and European areas.

  • Thrives in a collaborative team setting and is driven by a desire to deploy innovative approaches and technologies in a high energy environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize options, anticipate challenges, and execute on goals as a member of an interdisciplinary team is extremely important.
